Introduction

Symbion Communication is founded on over sixteen years experience in the design and implementation of communications systems for Civil Aviation. The Symbion suite of systems and software provide the complete solution for Air Traffic Service providers and end users alike. The Symbion range of products breaks the AFTN tradition of large monolithic systems by using a distributed network architecture integrating the AFTN with the AMHS, and Internet protocol suite.
This uniquely flexible approach allows the production of small, mid-range and large systems using the same basic software building blocks. Where bespoke solutions are required the Application Programmers Interface (API) provides a simple to use access mechanism into the Symbion program suite.
Each component of the Symbion System can be hosted on its own dedicated server or combinedwith other components on a common server. This unique feature enables the extensive scalability of the Symbion System and use of the Access 9000 Communications Unit ensures that there is no physical limit to message throughput whilst also “future proofing” system deployment.
